Anybody who knew me back in the day will to be surprised to learn that I followed in my Dad's footsteps. Through a combination of events that are too long to go into here, I wound up in the Army. I served almost 22 years on active duty and 9 years in the reserves for a total of 31 years in uniform. I became an aviator and eventually a Maintenance Test Pilot. I retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in February of 2001 and was hired as a systems engineer by The Boeing Company and worked on various programs finishing up my 11 and a half career with Boeing on the Chinook Helicopter Program as a senior engineer, retiring on August 31, 2012.

Hi Frances, just wanted to say hello as we were not only classmates but now neighbors as well. I live just outside of Dublin in Stonebridge Estates of Elephant Road. We've been here for 35 years I was an active-duty Army Officer and got stationed at Willow Grove Naval Air Station in '87. When I got transferred to different duty stations my family stayed and luckily I stayed on the East Coast and got home on weekend until I retired in 2001. Then worked at Boeing at Ridley Park as an engineer until I retired from there as well in 2013. Our 2 kids stayed in the area. My daughter is a Special Ed teacher in Allentown and my son works for ADP also in Allentown. So we get to see them, and our 4 grandchildren, fairly often.

I meet Rod in the 5th grade. We went to High School togeter and even worked our first job together after HS at a factory that had a cotract to assemble Timex display cases. It was a boaring job but the only person not going to college in the Fall was the foreman and he was a kid himself, being all of 21, so the envorment was fun. My heart goes out to you. Considering I haven't seen Rod since that summer job he will always remain young in my mind.
