I taught for one year, then went to work at CBS Television where I became a producer/writer of
WCBS-TV NEWS. I later joined International Institute for Learning to produce global satellite broadcasts. In 2006 our company published the book I had written, The Power of Acknowledgment and I have subsequently trained over 10,000 project managers, engineers, and executives in the 7 Principles of Acknowledgment. I am finishing my second and third books, "Leadership and The Power of Acknowledgment" and "The Power of Acknowledgment for Kids." These should be published shortly. I love contributing to people with this life-altering, transformational message. I have gone all over the world to deliver it and plan to do a lot more of this.
School Story:

We had to read so many books in such a short time in Mr. DuCharme's AP English class, that when I got to NYU, where I planned to become an English teacher, I went to my advisor and said I just couldn't take pleasure in reading any more books. He told me to read only cereal boxes, comic books and True Confessions magazines for several months -- and read only what I absolutely had to read for my courses. It worked, and I regained my love of reading. I continued to love Mr. DuCharme throughout, in spite of the grueling reading/writing schedule we had to follow.

I have been an infrequent visitor to this site (please forgive me) so I just saw this sad, sad news. I met and became good friends with Shelley at Davis and just remember her incredibly sweet smile and her never getting into a fight or an argument with anyone! I didn't realize what great contributions she made as an adult and I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better in that phase of our lives.

Hi Bob! A very happy birthday to you. How do you feel about being 74 (I am guessing that this is what you're celebrating)? I still feel like I'm 16, but someone gave me a seat recently because he said he likes to show respect for his elders. That was just awful!!! :) Let's all just stay 16 at least in mind and spirit...
